Lightning Protection/Snake Bites

Lightning protection

If you are in a group, please separate, and seek shelter near bushes or smaller trees. Avoid exposed points, especially solitary trees and objects and the edge of the forest. In case you feel that the hair on your head is rising or the skin is stinging you, it is advisable to squat as low as possible, shifting your body weight to your toes, to minimize your body's contact with the ground. Protect your ears with your palms.

First aid due to lightning strike

Lightning strikes can cause: burns, damage to the nervous system, broken bones and loss of sight or hearing. In case of shock, call an ambulance immediately. If the storm is ongoing and the victim is at a high risk of lightning, the rescuer must assess, taking into account personal safety, whether it is possible to move the victim to a safe place, because the basic rule is "do not increase the number of victims".

If he assesses on his responsibility that it is safe, the victim should be checked for consciousness, breathing and other signs of blood circulation and, if necessary, resuscitation measures should be started immediately, if the person is trained to do so, taking care not to injure the spine, until medical assistance arrives.

Prevention in case of snake bites

Snake bites only happen if you step on them and they bite out of fear. In case of a bite, please contact an ambulance immediately to receive an antidote serum as soon as possible. Above the site of the bite, the bitten limb should be tied with medium to high pressure, in order to slow down the venous circulation in order to slow down the spread of toxins in the body. It is important not to tie too tightly, not to stop the arterial circulation. Absolute rest is necessary, avoiding the slightest movements.

Waiver of Responsibility

By registering for the race, the competitor releases the organizer from any liability, whether civil or criminal, for damage to persons and / or their property caused by the actions of competitors.
